RJ and I were celebrating our 10th year anniversary as boyfried/girlfriend and where is best to celebrate? Of course, in our dream destination: Europe!

Like everyone else, we wanted to see the beauty of Europe but the problem is, airfare prices from Asia to Europe could be very expensive.

As our tagline goes: We explore life on a budget. We studied a work-around to get a good price, studied which country is cheaper to enter and to exit and, we have compared multiple airlines to see who gives the best deal/s.

Until we came across Scoot’s Take-off-Tuesday and since we’re frequent flyers of Scoot (we usually take Scoot when we go back to Manila),  we already know what to expect with regards to the quality and comfort of our flight. Moreover, prior to this trip, the longest flight that we took via Scoot was a direct flight from Singapore to Taipei which took us roughly 5 hours. I have to say that, so far we haven’t had any problem flying with Scoot regardless of the destination. In my honest opinion, the service was great, their aircraft were always clean and should there be any flight changes they would always notify us a head of time. Legroom wise, well, this is a budget airline, and we are not 6-footers as well; specially me, who stands only 5 feet, so every seat is already spacious enough for me.  However, if space is your concern, you always have the option to avail/select your seat of choice that offers a bigger leg room.

After comparing and considering every airline possible, Scoot became our top choice.

From Singapore, Scoot currently have two (2) flights to Europe; one is going to/ from Berlin and the other one is going to/from Athens. Both flight’s basefare usually starts from SGD 400.00 ++ one way, roughly PHP 15,000+ or USD 295.00. Make sure to be registered and get notified with their promos as the price can get as low as SGD 229!

Obviously, what really got us to choose Scoot over other airline was the price! We managed to book Singapore to Berlin and Athens to Singapore for about half of the price of you will ever find with other airlines; it is already the FlyBagEat package which basically includes flight fare, 20kg check-in luggage and 2 meals for each flight. Seat reservation and travel insurance in this price is not included

Aside from the affordable price, the most noteworthy here is they offer DIRECT flights too!

The Flight timings are perfect. When we travel, we always try to take the midnight flight/s for our departure. As we are both employed, midnight flights allow us to not waste a day of paid leave just for the departure date.  After work, we just go back home and freshen up a bit and sleep during the long haul flight journey. Anyway, for this trip, the flight took about 13 hours and we had to depart from Singapore at about 1 am (local time) and arrived in Berlin at about 7 am (local time). Again, no time wasted.

For our return from Athens to Singapore, we took the morning flight 11am (Local time) and we arrived Singapore about 4am the next day (local time).

Since Scoot’s timing and price were the best match for us, it helped us in deciding which countries to visit within Europe We took Singapore to Berlin, and Athens to Singapore to avoid constraint in our itinerary. We wanted to cover as many countries as we could as traveling to Europe is not that easy for us.

Here are some photos of the Scoot’s Dreamliner.

Thanks to Scoot’s flight offers, we finally checked-off Europe from our list! We can’t wait to go back again soon!

Extra thought:

This is slightly going to contradict my statement above but, if you are also considering to fly to Europe and coming from Manila; you may consider to check-out flight promos to/from Singapore via Scoot and take the SG to Berlin/Athens flight. This might still cost you less!
